WARNING: Dozer Blade Crushing Hazard
Secure the Blade: Before disconnecting any hoses or removing pins, ALWAYS lower the blade flat to the ground or support it on heavy hardwood cribbing (timber blocks). NEVER work under a blade that is only supported by the machine's hydraulics. A failed hose can cause the blade to drop instantly, resulting in severe crushing injuries or death.
Hydraulic Pressure Release: Cycle all control levers (raise/lower/tilt) multiple times with the engine OFF to release stored pressure in the lines. This prevents hot oil injection from a pressurized loosened fitting.
Weight Hazard: The D41 lift cylinder is heavy. Use a lifting strap and an engine hoist or overhead crane when removing the cylinder assembly. Never attempt to manhandle the cylinder out of the clevis brackets.
Use Only Genuine Kits: The 707-98-32820 kit includes specific polyurethane (PU) seals designed for the high side-loads of dozer push operations. Using generic rubber seals will result in premature failure (possibly within 50 hours) when pushing heavy material.
