Total System Power Down: Before starting, completely disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. For full safety, disconnect all battery sources and isolate the cables.
Thorough Documentation: Prior to disassembly, take extensive photographs and/or create labeled diagrams of the original harness routing and all connection points. This is crucial for correct reinstallation.
Careful Disconnection: Release all locking tabs carefully. Never pull on wires; always use the connector body. Avoid using excessive force to prevent damage to mating components.
Comprehensive Inspection: Before installing the new COGENG harness, meticulously inspect all engine sensors, ECM plugs, and chassis connectors for corrosion, damaged seals, or bent pins. Address any issues found.
Adhere to OEM Routing: Install the new harness by precisely following the original factory routing path. Secure it firmly in all designated clamps and guides, ensuring clearances from hot surfaces (e.g., turbocharger, exhaust), sharp edges, and moving parts.
Verify Positive Locking: Push each connector together firmly until a distinct "click" is heard and felt, confirming it is fully seated and locked.
Post-Installation System Check: After installation, perform a visual double-check of all connections. Reconnect the battery and, before starting the engine, turn the key to the ON position to check for any active fault codes on the monitor. Conduct a final operational check.
