Preparation:
Park the machine on a solid, level surface. Lower all attachments to the ground and engage all safety locks.
Gather necessary tools, a torque wrench for ground connections, and electrical contact cleaner.
Removal of Old Harness:
DOCUMENT EXTENSIVELY: Take numerous high-resolution photos and videos of the entire harness routing and every single connection. Label every connector with tape and a marker.
Systematically unclip the harness from its routing channels. Note the locations of all ground points.
Disconnect the ECU connectors last and with extreme care. Avoid touching the pin contacts.
Carefully disconnect all sensors, injectors, and actuator plugs by releasing the locking tab and pulling the connector body, not the wires.
Installation of New COGENG Harness:
Unpack the new COGENG WH-KOM-8120 harness and lay it next to the old one to verify an identical configuration.
Route the new harness first. Carefully thread it through the engine bay, following the exact OEM path and using all existing clips and guides. Avoid contact with hot or moving parts.
Connect ground wires first, ensuring clean, tight connections to the engine block and chassis.
Work from the engine outward, connecting all sensors and actuators. Ensure each connector clicks firmly into place.
Connect the ECU last.
Final Verification and Power-Up:
Before reconnecting the battery, triple-check that every connection is secure, the routing is correct, and no wires are pinched.
Reconnect the battery and main power switch.
Turn the ignition to the "ON" position (do not start) for 30 seconds. Observe the dashboard for any immediate fault codes.
If clear, start the engine. Let it idle and listen for abnormalities. Monitor all engine parameters. Check for exhaust smoke or unusual noises that might indicate an incorrect installation.
Use diagnostic software to check for and clear any historical fault codes.
